She began her studies of dance, at the age of 9in Orfeão of Leiria.
In 1994 she attended the Sussex Summer School and joined “ Ecolab Superior de Dança” in Lisbon. In 1997, she participated as a dancer in the “Som do Leque” by Vasco Wellenkamp held under the Macao Arts Festival. In 1997 she is admitted at Paulo Ribeiro’s the Company. Later became a member of the Portuguese Contemporary Ballet Company. She was an invited choreographer of the Dance Company of Aveiro in the season 2002/2003.
Catarina teaches at the Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional in Lisbon, and at the School of Dance of Orfeão de Leiria, where she developed some choreographic creations. In addition, she founded the group Tilt - Choreographic Centre of Leiria, where she choreographs and dance.

Classical Dance, Repertory and Variations B
She finished her studies at the Vaganova Academy in 1956 and started working at the Maly Theatre, in Leningrad, where she was principal dancer until 1978. Mss. Iananis danced the parts of Odete-Odile - " Swan Lake", the Ballerina - " Paquita", Nykia in "La Bayadère", "Giselle" and the leading female part from" Le Corsaire".
In 1976, she started teaching, simultaneously at the Vaganova Academy and at the State Conservatoire in Leningrad. From 1979 to 1984 she taught at the Leningrad Conservatoire.
During her career as a Teacher she was invited for to stage classical ballets such as;" La Bayadère", "Paquita" , " Le Corsaire" and " Nutcracker " at different theatres from Russia , U.S.A, Germany and Japan.
At the present time she is a teacher for the upper classes at the Vaganova Academy.

Classical Dance, Variations and Pas-de-Deux C
She finished her dance studies in 1965 at Vaganova Academy of St. Petersburg. From 1965 to 1985 she was dancer of the Mali Theater of Opera and Ballet Mussorgski. She danced as a Soloist in ballets like:“Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Giselle”, “Bayadère”, “Sylphide”, “Blue Danube” etc.)
She finished her TRAINING COURSE FOR BALLET TEACHERS in 1997 at Vaganova Academy of St. Petersburg. As a teacher, she took part in many international ballet seminars in different countries: Sweden, Canada, Korea, Greece, USA.

Yoga
Professional dancer, he finished his dance studies at the “Centre de Danse Rosella Hightower “in Cannes. He has been a dancer with the Hannover Ballet Company, Ballet of Zurich and the Portuguese National Ballet. He has been practicing Yoga since 1990.He has done the course of the Portuguese center for Yoga.

Classical Dance, Repertory and Variations A
She finished her studies in 1969 at Vaganova Academy of St. Petersburg, with the teacher V. Kostravitskaia.
From 1969 to 1996 she was dancer of Mali Theater of Opera and Ballet Mussorgski. She danced the main parties and soloists of: The Swan Lake, Corsair, Copel, Giselle, La Fille mal Gardeé, among others.
In 1997 finished her studies at Vaganova Academy where she actually teaches.

Ballroom Dances
Professional dancers, they are members of the Portuguese Ball Dance Association. They were twice national champions of Latin–American amateurs and finalists of several International Tourneys. They were at the quarter finals of several European Championships.
National vice champions of Latin American’s Professional.
They represented Portugal at the World and European Championship.
They are International Juries and members of the United Kingdom Alliance (UKA).

Indian Dance (Bollywood)
She started studying classical dance in 1987. In 1997 started studying Oriental arts: dance Yoga and martial arts. In 2002 she graduated in Theatre, in Porto and further specializes in Brazil. She makes a course of chorographical experimentation and research in Forum Dança with Clara andermatt e Margarida Bettencourt. She has done several study trips to Africa, Turkey, Israel and especially India. She performed in several national and international Festivals such as in Macao, China, Mexico and India.

Floor Exercises
Teresa Simas was born in Portugal in 1971. She made her professional debut as a soloist with Dança Grupo at the Teatro de S. Luís in Lisbon at the age of 15. In 1988 started her studies at the State Dance School of Kiev in Ukraine, working with professors such as Irina Kriptova, Evgueni Baukin, Vadim Fedotov and Valeria Ivanovna, with whom she studied the Vaganova technique. Teresa also studied Choreography at the University of Dramatic Arts in Moscow. More recently, she worked on the Mézières Method with Elisabeth Gibiat and on Cunningham technique at the Merce Cunningham Institute in New York.
She worked at the Dietzki Musicalni Ballet with Natalia Satz, in Moscow, where she met the choreographer Edvald Smirnov. It was at Smirnov's Russian Chamber Ballet where Teresa danced as a soloist from 1992 to 1994, dancing the principal roles in L'Arlesiene and Nero and Seneca, amongst others. She assisted Smirnov for one year and recreated L'Arlesiene in Cheboksary Theatre.
In 1994, she returned to Portugal, working with CêDêCê and with the Companhia de Dança de Lisboa - where she worked as a rehearsal director and assisted Célia Gouveia, particularly on the creation of "Cabo da Boa Esperança". She also assisted the National Team of Rhythmic Gymnastics as a choreography adviser and Ballet teacher.
From 1996 to 2000 danced as a soloist with the Gulbenkian Ballet under the direction of Iracity Cardoso, working on repertoire and many new works with choreographers and ballet masters such as Ohad Naharin, Angelin Preljocaj, Meryl Tankard, Martino Müller, Rui Horta, Jiri Kilian, Olga Roriz, Itzik Galili, Clara Andermat, Rodrigo Pederneiras, Alphonse Poulin, Ivan Kramer, Jorge Garcia, Marie Chouinard, Gilles Jobin and Vladimir Pankov.
Teresa moved to London in August 2000, teaching at Bird College and Millennium College as a Cunningham technique teacher. From January 2001 she worked with Bare Bones Dance Company - working in new creations for a UK tour with choreographers David Massingham, Akram Khan and Henri Oguike.
In January 2002, Teresa moved to Aix-en-Provence, where she joined the Ballet Preljocaj, with whom she toured extensively throughout mainland and eastern Europe as welll as the USA. She returned to Lisbon in September 2003, where she worked as a soloist with the Gulbenkian Ballet until July 2004.
Teresa initiated her choreographic work in Moscow and during 2001 her work was seen at the Purcell Room at the South Bank and Momentum Choreography Festival in London as well as at the Almada International Choreography Platform in Portugal. It was at the very same festival that her new creation - named "Silêncio" - was premiered, in October 2004. A few months before, in August 2004, her choreography "Sappho" was seen in Estonia, at the Kuressaare Kammermuusika Paevad. A few weeks before, she created in Lisbon the experimental multimedia work gesamtkunstBOTwerk: concerto simbiótico, with visual artist Leonel Moura, computer hacker/musician Ivan Franco and marimbist Pedro Carneiro.
In February 2005, her new work "Senta-te" was premiered in Lisbon, at the Centro Cultural de Belém, in a evening dedicated to her work. "Senta-te" was inspired in a text by the young Portuguese writer, Alexandre Simas Dias. In April 2006, "...all balanced on this predicament of line." commissioned by Dançarte, was premiered - it features a development of Simas' choreographic language as well as co-collaborating with Pedro Carneiro and André Sier, on a new real-time interactive computer composition for six channels surrounding the audience.
Her most recent creation, "Siffle", was premiered in October 2006, in Estarreja/Portugal, featuring music by the late French composer Gérard Grisey.
Although Teresa is no longer dancing in repertoire companies, she is keeping busy choreographing, working with Pedro Carneiro , having taught at Chapitô. She is is also a guest teacher at several institutions, such as NND/Galili Dance and Academia de Dança de Setúbal. She is a coach of Rhythmic Gymnastics at both team level (Clube Recreativo Piedense) and national level, at the National Team of Rhythmic Gymnastics of the Portuguese Gymnastics Federation.
Teresa is a founding member of the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra and speaks Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, English and French; and enjoys teaching, reading and writing.

Hip Hop A, BC e Práticas de Palco
Ingressou no Curso de Formação de Bailarinos da Academia de Dança Contemporânea de Setúbal que conclui em 2006, onde integrou a Pequena Companhia sendo intérprete em obras de Carlos Prado, Iolanda Rodrigues, Bárbara Griggi, Cláudia Novoa, Gagik Ismailian, Olga Roriz e Vasco Wellemkamp. Em 2003 venceu o “MTV Shakedown European Dance Contest”. Convidado pela MTV, participou no videoclip “Yeah” do cantor americano Usher. Tem trabalhado com diversas companhias e projectos de onde se destacam: “Alias” (Suíça), “Kompany Malakhi” (Inglaterra),”TOK’ART”- Artista Associado, “Mayim Mayim” (Alemanha) onde interpretou um solo coreografado por Gagik Ismailian e a ópera "Das Marchen" onde trabalhou com a coreógrafa Amanda Miller. Na área do hip hop tem trabalhado para várias marcas e empresas como a Vodafone, NBP - Morangos com Açúcar, Mtv European Music Awards, Billabong,entre outros. Em 2009, no evento Eurobattle, foi premiado com o primeiro lugar no estilo de newstyle.

Classical Dance Teachers Course - Vaganova III e IV
He started his dance studies at the school of the Gulbenkian Ballet. From 1981 to 1983 he became a scholarship from the Gulbenkian foundation to study at the John-Cranko Academy in Stuttgart where he obtained his diploma as a dancer. He danced first with the Municipal Theatre in Hagen (1983-86) and after that in Bonn (1986-92) first under the direction of Peter Van Dyck and after of Youri Vamos. He taught as well classical dance at the Ballet Studio for the youth (1986-92) where he choreographed several pieces.
From 1992 to 1994 he studied at the Vaganova Ballet Academy where he became his diploma as a teacher with the highest classification.
Back to Portugal he joined from 1994 to 96 the National Ballet Company, while at the same time teaching character dance first with the school by the company (1994-95) and with the National Dance School (1995-96).
He is since 1996 full time teacher of classical and character dance in the National Dance School in Lisbon. At the present time he is the Director.
